    Koili Point sits along the breathtaking Hamakua Coast, just seven minutes north of downtown Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai‘i. The property overlooks the ocean from a private bluff surrounded by orchards, gardens, and native palms  close to Akaka Falls, Rainbow Falls, and the Hawai‘i Tropical Botanical Garden.

Guests enjoy oceanfront views, a pool and hot tub, handcrafted furnishings, and solar-powered comfort  all surrounded by fruit trees and friendly sheep.   • 3. How close is it to town, dining, and attractions?

    Stay in Papaikou, near Hilo’s restaurants, shops, and farmers markets. Discover the waterfalls and scenery of the Hāmākua Coast, then return to Koili Point to unwind.

  • 4. What should I know before booking?

    Children are welcome. Pets are not permitted. Both homes are single-level, with no stairs. Check-in is from 3 p.m.; checkout is by 10 a.m. Current availability and prices are shown in each home’s booking calendar.

  • 5. How many houses are on the property?

    There are two nearly identical homes separated by a double carport and tiki hut patio. Each home has its own private entrance and full amenities, and they share the pool and hot tub. Families often rent both for group stays. Privacy-conscious guests will find the layout spacious and respectful of personal space.

  • 6. What does “off-grid” mean? Will I have power and AC?

    Koili Point is 100% solar powered with a backup generator. You’ll enjoy air conditioning during daylight hours and gentle ocean breezes at night. The homes are designed to maximize natural airflow, with ceiling fans and large windows that keep things cool and comfortable.
